Sikuaput is the only tour operator on Qeqertarsuaq Island in Disko Bay. You will be warmly welcomed by Ove Berthelsen's family, which organizes various tours, including dog sleds from June to August (the only place where it can be done during the summer season in Greenland) on the Lyngmark glacier about 800 meters away and where it is possible to spend the night. The journey to the glacier takes place on foot, between 2:30 a. m. and 4 a. m. The climb is quite steep at times and the rise reserved for people in good physical condition. The temperature up there in summer is 10-15 ° C. In winter, excursions are possible in a larger area over a longer period, particularly in Maligiaq or Qivittut where you can also try ice fishing. The towers start behind the heliport and the temperature usually avoids the -10 to -15 ° C. You can rent warm leather clothing if needed. Snowmobiles, guided tours of the city, kaffemiks as well as excursions to search for whales or to visit the village of Kangerluk are also offered.
