QEQERTARSUAQ MUSEUM
Local museum featuring old whale-hunting satellites and evidence of the Saqqaq and Dorset civilizations.
The local museum has several worthwhile exhibits describing daily life during the colonial period, when Qeqertarsuaq was the main town in northern Greenland and a key location for whaling and trade. It houses old satellites used in the search for whales, as well as traditional kayaks and dog sleds. The museum also displays interesting evidence of the Saqaq and Dorset civilizations. Postcards and posters can be purchased in the museum store.
