CASTELL D'ARO
Visit the medieval castle of Benidormiens and admire the various remains of the original construction
At 6 km inland by the C -31, the village of Castell d 'Aro owes its origin to the medieval castle of Benidormians, which hosted the monastery of Sant Feliu de Guíxols in order to protect the valley of Aro from looting from the sea. You can still admire the various remnants of the primitive construction, now partially restored and furnished in the exhibition center, as well as the church of Santa Maria, Gothic style. Located on a small hill at 42 meters, the entire village is a fine example of the traditional Catalan architecture, with houses of the xve and seventeenth centuries.
