The Naruto German House was built in 1972 to honor the relationship between captured German soldiers and local residents, referring to the materials donated by these former soldiers. During World War I, a prisoner of war camp for German prisoners was located in the town of Naruto. Twenty years later, due to the aging of the facilities and the increase in the number of objects collected, a new house was built. The current location dates from 13 October 1993.
