EX-CONVENTO DE LAS CAPUCHINAS
It was in 1742 that the construction of this convent began with the terrible reputation: it was often against its will, without ever mentioning it, since the funerals were held in secret inside the complex. In 1756, the first nuns from the city of Mexico took Possession of the Places and the novices'imprisonment began; The cils and eyebrows were then bulldozed to remove them from beauty. In 1833 it was built its second level, to remove the dormitory of water from the river which tended to invade the ground floor. The convent greeted over 300 nuns at its peak; the youngest was at the age of three, and the oldest in 82 years old… In 1867, the convent was finally closed and the place served as a school between 1869 and 1935, forming some of the best writers in the city. After several renovation stages since the 60 s, it was transformed into a cultural centre in the 90 s. The temple of Des is located right next to the square, but is only open in exceptional ways.
