MUSEO DE LA SAL
Museum that respects the atmosphere of its former warehouses and shows models, photographs, tools in Cuyutlan
Exploited since the beginning of the 17th century, the salt of the Cuyutlán lagoon was nationalized in 1919. Today, this small museum is housed in an old wooden building belonging to the Cuyutlán Salt Farmers' Cooperative. Most of the warehouses are still in use, with huge deposits of salt just waiting to be packed for sale. The museum respects the atmosphere of the old warehouses and displays models, photographs, tools and small texts about the product and its exploitation.
