CAVES CODORNÍU
Cellars in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, dedicated to the elaboration of sparkling wines following the champagne method
In 1872, Josep Raventós, from the Codorníu winery, produced the first 3,000 bottles of cava following the Champagne method of making sparkling wine. This is the beginning of a family saga that continues with the new generations. The farmhouse was modernized by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch between 1896 and 1906 with the construction of the Expedition Pavilion (the current reception hall), topped by Catalan brick vaults with parabolic arch openings. Different guided tours and cava tasting on site.
