This museum exhibits an interesting collection of artefacts from archaeological excavations carried out in the area, which bear witness to the occupation of the territory from prehistoric times to the Roman era. It is a good introduction to the history of Irpinia. One section is dedicated to Mefite, the Italic water goddess, whose sanctuary was a place of pilgrimage from the 6th century BC.
