Archaeological park containing the remains of Aeclanum and a 6th century early Christian basilica
The remains ofAeclanum, a flourishing Roman city along the Via Appia, can be seen: a thermal complex, macellum, Pompeian domus , ramparts, streets and private houses. The remains of an early Christian basilica, dated to the time of Emperor Justinian (6th century), have also been uncovered. The objects from the excavations are kept in the Irpino Museum in Avellino. The visit is interesting, but we regret the lack of explanatory panels...
