SIMA DE LAS COTORRAS
Night refuge for hundreds of representatives of a species of small parrots, we can observe rock paintings
The chasm serves as a night shelter for hundreds of representatives of a species of small parrots(cotorras verdes). On the upper walls of the chasm, you can see rock paintings from the Zoque culture, by taking a simple walk of less than an hour (you then descend about 40 metres along a footpath). Then, you have to be prepared because it's really worth it to abseil down the hundred or so metres: at the bottom of the chasm, you leave your harnesses on and continue your visit of the caves on foot.
