CASTLE OF LA SANTA CREU
Castle installed on a rocky heap which dominates the plains of the village whose walls are in a good state of conservation
The Santa Creu castle, which stands on a rocky outcrop, dominates the plains of the village, with its narrow, medieval streets at its feet. It was built in the 11th century on the remains of an ancient Roman necropolis and its tombs carved out of the rock during the Spanish Christian reconquest of the territory against the Arabs. Although the walls are not huge, they are in a very good state of preservation, especially the cistern and the loopholes built in the Middle Ages.
