ANTONI ROIG BUILDING
Modernist building built by Antoni Roig i Copons to house his foundation for the education of children
This modernist-style building was built in 1892 by Antoni Roig i Copons, an indiano (Catalan who made his fortune in the Americas before returning to his native land) to house his foundation, which was responsible for educating the city's children and providing dowries to the poor girls of Torredembarra. Antoni Roi Street is home to otherindianos ' villas and at the end of September the Fira d'Indians is celebrated there, with tasting of products from across the Atlantic (coffee, potatoes, cocoa), various workshops, including one for making cigars, and a great popular ball.
