VIA AUGUSTA
One of the most important communication routes traced by the Romans in antiquity to connect Rome with Hispania
The Via Augusta (Emperor Augustus gave it his name) is one of the most important communication routes traced by the Romans in antiquity to connect Rome with Hispania. Today, the famous AP-7, known as the "Mediterranean Highway", follows the route of this historical axis. At the southern end of the city, the ancient remains of the Via Augusta still remain. A first section of one kilometer goes up the hill where the hermitage of Sant Cristòfol is located, and then goes down to km 192.8 of the N-340 (for 2 km).
