THE CASTLE OF THE COUNTS
Place of residence of the barons of Queralt, which has undergone many transformations throughout its history
The first documents to mention the existence of the castle of Santa Coloma de Queralt date back to 1018, the circular tower - 23 m high and 12 m in diameter - being the oldest element of the building. It was the residence of the barons of Queralt throughout the Middle Ages, and has undergone numerous transformations throughout its history. Three periods stand out: the first floor and the basement are Gothic, while the façade and the entrance, dating from the 16th to the 18th century, are Renaissance and Baroque.
