SANT JAUME CHURCH
Beautiful example of Catalan Renaissance architecture, built between 1584 and 1591 under the direction of Jaume Amigo
The church of Sant Jaume d'Ulldemolins is a fine example of Catalan Renaissance architecture, built between 1584 and 1591 under the direction of Jaume Amigó. With only one nave, it owes its beautiful dimensions to the volumes of its eight side chapels, the choir and its two sacristies. The bell tower is remarkable for its five levels (note that the base of the bell tower serves as a chapel) and the facade has finely chiseled ornamentation typical of the Renaissance. A remarkable building.
