The origins of the Nou Castle are uncertain. The present remains, now restored, are the result of the castle built by the carlistes in the 1833 th century, supporters of Charles de Bourbon (Carles Maria Isidre de Borbó) who then claims the Throne of Spain to Isabelle II, daughter of King Ferdinand VII, a dispute that will give rise to the First War carlist in. The Carlist castle is characterized by its triangular shape of three circular towers linked by walls and its central patio containing a ovoïdal reservoir.
