MORNE-AUX-DIABLES
Mountain peaking at 861 m, with several craters, an 80 m-high lava dome and active sulfur springs.
This hike, which lasts about 4 hours, is quite strenuous if you are not a regular visitor. The hike takes you through the mountain that peaks at 861 m at the northern end of the island. It consists of several craters and a lava dome 80 m high. You will see many active sulphur springs along the way, but don't worry as the volcano is dormant. The trail crosses the northern end of the island at Tanetane (near Portsmouth on the north-west side) to Vieille Case on the north-east coast.
