TOUMANYA VILLAGE
This village founded by Almamy Toumany has kept traces of its glorious past. We can see some parts of walls and remains of huts of the Tata of this dignitary of the time of Samory. According to the inhabitants, he lived there in his youth and became a protector of the village. The tomb of a certain Lieutenant Ardouin, who died in 1895, also bears witness to the somewhat turbulent past of the region. Today, the villagers are farmers but also fishermen. They exercise their activity in the ponds of the surroundings; the occasion of festivals for the population.
