MAJOR SQUARE
Main street that reveals a succession of Gothic arches and colonnades built between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries in Batea.
The main street of the historic center (Vila Closa) reveals a succession of Gothic arches and colonnades built between the 13th and 15th centuries. Under these arches was the old market of the merchants and craftsmen of Batea. It was also a place that allowed pedestrians to take shelter in rainy weather! The street has kept all its former splendor. Some remarkable buildings will catch your attention, such as Casa Mossèn Pere, now dedicated to the Battle of the Ebro, or the baroque chapel of the Mare de Déu del Portal (1698).
