Castle built on a Moorish fortress, with a small stone church dedicated to Sant Joan in Batea
A dozen kilometers from Batea are the ruins of the Templar castle, built on a Moorish fortress. All that remains today is a Gothic archway and some walls... At the foot of the castle stands a small stone church dedicated to Sant Joan, which comes to life every June 24 to celebrate the saint. From this small temple, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the valley and the river below. An original escapade.
