MONKEY BAY WILDLIFE
Small private nature reserve turned study and research center ideal for a guided walk or canoe trip
It's a small private nature reserve (5 km²), whose land was originally used for livestock farming, before a violent flooding of the Siburn River in the 1990s convinced the landowner to let nature take its course. Today, it is a study and research center, open to the public wishing to learn more about the local ecosystems. A walk along a 2 km trail takes you through five distinct landscapes, allowing you to observe wildlife up close.
