Visiting this domain, in a quiet street of Mittelwihr, you will meet the winemaker of the year 2023 named by the Guide Hachette, Laurent Scheidecker. He has been running the family estate in organic conversion of 12 ha for almost 10 years with passion and brio. During a tasting in the cellar dedicated to Laurent's father's vinification, choose the Riesling Grand Cru Sporen 2020, three stars in the Guide Hachette, with a nose of ripe fruits and a straight and mineral mouth.

As a somm in the US I have high expectations when doing a wine tasting when it comes to quality of wine, experience and atmosphere. Laurel, 4th gen owner, led us through 10 wines and each expressed the terroir beautifully. The prices were incredible for the quality and their 200+ yr old bldg was so charming and quaint. The epitome of an old world tasting. I’m happy we brought some home to enjoy. I ranked this as #1 tasting during our visit.

De passage dans la région pour raison professionnelle, j’ai bu un excellent pinot noir dans un restaurant de Ribeauvillé et j’en suis tombé amoureux !!
J’ai demandé l’adresse à la restauratrice et je suis allé chez la famille Scheidecker dès le lendemain. L’accueil a été à la hauteur de leur vin: délicieux, généreux et d’une belle simplicité. Ici pas de chichi, que de l’authentique!! Courez-y!! Rapport qualité / prix sans égal .
