HOSTAL SOL DE TASAREJA

Hostal Sol de Tasareja is the only accommodation on the island. It's a 10-minute walk from where the boats arrive, close to the beach. Since 2014, young Spaniards, who came as volunteers for cooperation projects, have been supporting the development of the initiative. Ecotourism generates a new source of income on the island and helps finance, in a more sustainable way, various projects for education, health and conservation of the natural environment. Activities, proposed by members of the community, can be organized. For example, explore the mangroves aboard a cayuco, learn to fish in the traditional way and prepare delicious pupusas, buy souvenirs made from natural materials by the women of the community... From July to December, many turtles come to lay their eggs on the beach. The eggs are collected and protected so that the baby turtles can be released in conditions more conducive to their survival. You can take part in collecting the eggs at night and releasing the babies in the morning - an unforgettable experience.
