PIEVE DEI SANTI GIOVANNI ED ERMOLAO
Church whose baptismal font is one of the most important testimonies of neo-antique sculpture
The first traces of the existence of this church date back to 1116. Its 12th century baptismal font is one of the most important neo-ancient testimonies of sculpture in the Pisa and Lucca region. They are decorated with representations of Christ, Saint John the Baptist, the Virgin and two angels. Finally, the particular and imposing bell tower, probably an old defence tower, is located on the side of the left transept of the church.
