At the foot of the fort, this stepped tank is typical of Rajasthan. It is about 15 meters deep and some of its engravings deserve special attention. Stairs line three of the sides. It was dug by King Bairisalji and inaugurated in 1913 on a full moon night to curry favor with the Gods. The purpose of the kund is to collect rainwater and build up reserves. A system of wells with wheel activated by a buffalo makes it possible to bring up the calabashes of the depths when the tank is dry.
