ST. GERLACHUSKERK - ST GERLAC CHURCH
The place where the hermit Gerlach de Houthem stayed, with a church with frescoes, and a small museum.
The hermit Gerlach de Houthem lived here for part of his life, and his tomb is a place of worship visited by over 20,000 people every year. The church dates from 1721 and was built on the foundations of the medieval church. Its frescoes by Johan Adam Schöpf are illustrious and the light is incredible. The church houses a treasure trove, the skull of Saint Gerlach. A small museum is also on site, and consecrated sand is available to believers.
