THEODOOR DORRENPLEIN
A square in the city of Valkenburg, located north of the historic center, with a building and hosting a Christmas market
Valkenburg's main square lies slightly to the north of the historic center, but right in the heart of the town's shopping district. It owes its name to an illustrious resident, pioneer of tourism and founder of the tourist office, who was also an alderman. You'll catch a glimpse of him: a bronze statue depicts him accompanied by tourists. The square is home to a popular Christmas market, which you should visit if you get the chance. Of particular note is a fine Baroque building dating from the 17th century.
