BRAK MILL
The De Brak mill, still in operation today, now includes a brewery and several stores
In the Middle Ages, the small town of Sluis was home to dozens of mills, but by the beginning of the last century, only three remained... De Brak was built in 1739, the only brick mill in the region. Still in operation today, it has been superbly renovated and now includes a brewery and several stores (in the annexes). A visit to the mill is worthwhile, and offers a panoramic view of L'Écluse and the surrounding area. You can buy flour made on site, or take a seat in the restaurant for home-made crêpes.
