FRENCH MILITARY CEMETERY
A cemetery where all the French soldiers who died during the fighting with the German forces in the Netherlands were buried
On May 16, 1940, intense fighting broke out between German and French forces who had come to the aid of the Netherlands. 65 French soldiers perished. At the end of the war, all French soldiers who died in the Netherlands were buried here. 217 French soldiers, 20 Moroccans and Algerians and one Belgian are buried here. There are two monuments: a wall with the names of the fallen and a column featuring 3 mosaics. A remembrance ceremony is held in May.
