This superb mill dating from 1869, was built as a sign of defiance against the miller of the other mill
Aeolus is a superb mill dating from 1869. It was built in defiance of the miller of the other mill (de Hoop). This one is bigger and taller than the other! Named after the Greek god of wind, it is located in Wemeldinge and belongs to the municipality of Kapelle. It is sometimes operated by a volunteer miller. For the record, it caught fire in 1888 and was rebuilt. This is a fairly technical and advanced corn and wheat mill, with 3 millstones. The mill wheels are over 24 meters long.
