The village retains four defensive towers erected during the medieval period: the emblematic rectangular tower of ermita, built in the th century; the torre of the Candela high in the th century at the edge of the Ebro River, the torre de Burjassénia, a circular building mentioned in the th century in historical documents; and finally, the Torre Benaixarop, built in the next century, offering a sweeping view on the deltaic plains.
