AGNIGARH
A park on a hill, a site of Hindu mythology overlooking the river, ideal for a stroll at the end of the day.
A beautiful park on a hill which is also a site of Hindu mythology. Agnigarh means fire fort in Hindi. This is where Banasura had its fortress. It was surrounded by a fire that burned continuously, to limit entry and exit. This is where Usha brought Aniruddha, the grandson of Krishna. Today, there is no more fire, except the one of the sun setting on the Brahamaputra. The hill offers a beautiful view of the river and many people from Tezpur come to walk here at the end of the day.
