TALATAL GHAR
Built in 1751 to house a military base, the upper floors with the royal chambers are open to the public.
When King Rudra Singha moved the capital of the Ahom kingdom from Garghaon to Rangpur, he undertook to build several buildings. This palace, built in 1751 and completed in 1769, was erected to house a military base. The royal chambers were located in the upper floors. Located in Rangpur, the "underground palace" contained two secret tunnels, designed to evade enemy attacks, and floors below ground level that are now closed. Only the two upper floors are now open to the public.
