Dating back to the 12th century, this stone turtle is located in the central park of Ussurysk. It was installed on the tombs of the imperial family of the Jurchën state (10th-12th centuries) as a symbol of longevity. Another specimen kept him company, now on display at the Khabarovsk Ethnographic Museum. The Soviet archaeologist V. Larichev studied these monuments and found that they served as the tombstone of the burial place of the leader Esiku of the Wanyang clan.
