SHEIKH BURHANUDDIN GHARIB DARGAH
Sanctuary located in the mosque, housing the tomb of Sheikh Burhanuddin Gharib and preserving the hair of the Prophet's bard
The tomb is located in the mosque opposite the dargah of Aurangzeb. The shrine houses the tomb of Sheikh Burhanuddin Gharib, a Sufi saint. The doors are decorated with chiseled metal plates with plant motifs. Hairs from the Prophet's beard are kept in this shrine. A disciple of Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi, he migrated to Daulatabad in 1327. He was invested with the hat and mantle of the caliphate and became the guarantor of Islam in the region.
