BANI BEGUM GARDEN
Beautiful Mughal garden with the Bani Begum mausoleum in the center, a mosque in the south wall and 2 pavilions in the east and west walls
This beautiful Mughal garden completely forgotten by the tourist circuits shelters the mausoleum of Bani Begum, the wife of Aurangzeb. Access through the back door of Burhanuddin's dargah. Each corner of the wall is topped by a kiosk with a crenellated bell tower. Inside, the symmetry is perfectly respected: a mosque is nestled in the southern wall, while two pavilions adorn the eastern and western walls. The mausoleum of Bani Begum stands in the center of the garden. Four pavilions of 16 columns surmounted by convex roofs, typical of Bengal architecture.
