House allowing to better understand the complete course of the man, from his glory hours to his darkest hours
When it comes to the history of New Mexico, the name of the controversial Kit Carson often comes up. Perfectly preserved in its original state, this house will give you a better understanding of his career, from glory days to darker times - including his cruel campaign to "pacify" the Navajo in the 1860s. One of the highlights of the collection is the sword Carson used in the Civil War, which the museum purchased in 2013.
