BADR GHULUM AND TURABI HOUSES
This is the property of Barber Badr Ghulum, who settled in Muharraq in 1912. This Bahrain has played a vital role for the entire community. While the few foreign missions that provided elementary care were all in Manama, Badr Ghulum became a little by little the doctor of the people of Muharraq. This is the first building designed to accommodate patients. Abolishing divisions between rich and poor, everyone was going to get care at home. But it is true that fishermen were its first customers. Spending a life diving at several meters deep, 12 hours a day, it marks a man. Damaged lungs, eye and skin diseases were the most common afflictions. The Ghulum family still owns this house, which keeps memories of the various expansions it has experienced throughout history. The consultation room was recently remade, the restorers used original materials, mainly coral limestone. The liwan, the three bedrooms on the west wing, and the medical wing are of time.
