FAKHRO HOUSE (FAKHRO HOUSE)
This house belonged to one of the largest pearl merchants of the kingdom, Yousif Abdurrahman Fakhro. At the time, the perlible industry reached its peak, and it had first made a fortune in the timber trade, which was essential to shipbuilding, which was supposed to supply the bulk of the Bahraini fleet. His home is a good example of the ingenuity of Bahrain. Yousif Abdurrahman was one of the first inhabitants to build artificial land to gain constructive land on the sea. So he was able to set his own pontoon right next to his property. From his window, he could observe the 50 merchant ships of his fleet and come. His headquarters was more than 3,000 m ² and he also owned a warehouse just a few blocks away.
