This vertical garden, designed by French landscape architect Patrick Blanc, covers the entire wall of Muharraq's old town.

Nicknamed the Green Gate, this vertical garden is a creation of the Shaikh Ebrahim Cultural Center. Created by French landscape designer Patrick Blanc, one of the pioneers of green walls, Muharraq's vertical garden aims to strengthen the links between nature and the city. Patrick Blanc was inspired by the resistance and resilience of oases. More than 200 plants, mainly from subtropical and desert countries (Mediterranean, Middle East, Australia, South Africa...), completely cover this wall in the old city of Muharraq.
