MOHAMMED BIN FARIS HOUSE
This renovated house in 2005 is a tribute to its owner Mohammed bin Faris. This Bahrain singer was one of the great masters of sawt, a music from the Gulf countries and particularly popular in Bahrain. A ensemble composed of percussion (mirwas), a flute (' ud) and a violin accompanied a soloist, who mixes poetry and song. Dances sometimes complement performance, they are called zaffan. The house is now restored in the same way, with time furniture, recordings (carried out, inter alia, by the Arab World Institute), and archival photos. Its proximity to the Mohammed bin Faris Music Hall is ideal for a quick tour before a concert.
