It's a bit of the corner attraction. This huge ranch is two-thirds in Colorado and one third in Wyoming, where the commercial part is located (the state is exempt from taxes).
It's a paradise for children and visitors wanting to experience a Far West experience. The site is, however, very touristic with a whole collection of animals of all kinds, chickens and horses, but also ostriches, lamas, and even camels. Despite the very commercial side of the visit, the history behind it makes the experience more authentic. Ranch bison breeding supplies most local restaurants. As for the train, which is used for the visit, and the few attractions that make the children happy, everything was made by hand by the owner. The circuit was built with the help of the historic national company, the Pacific Union, and is the longest private network of rails across the country.
On the spot, there are several options, from the classic visit to the small train to feed the bison (a memorable experience!) on the horse ride in the one hour or two-hour property (during which you will most likely see herds of elk, especially in summer). If you want to prolong the experience, you can also enjoy lunch or dinner on site and, why not, taste bison.
