THE HISTORIC OCCIDENTAL HOTEL
A real return to the time of the golden age of conquest of the West awaits you at this most typical hotel. This building, which dates back to 1880, was invested by various activities and was a closed house. At the end of xixe, the beginning of twentieth century, the Grand Hotel is then known for its refined hospitality and cuisine. He attracts many personalities including Buffalo Bill, Theodore Roosevelt, but also Calamity Jane or the Butch Cassidy gang. Unfortunately, with the Great Depression of the 1930 s, the hotel is losing its good and some of its clientele. It is doomed to destruction when Dawn Dawson began to restore it in 1997, finally to get it into the national historic register. Today, it has become a new brand and is one of the best hotels in the West. It's true that it's an experiment not missing. The hotel's visit (in summer) allows people who don't stay there to discover the different areas, corridor, library… and especially to learn more about the rich history of this building and the people who have stayed there. During the fall, during the two weeks preceding Halloween, haunted tours of the hotel are held. Let's get guaranteed. But if you're an amateur of crispy anecdotes, be reassured, the classic visit won't spare you ghost stories and the testimonies to get cold in your back. Outside the guided tour, you can access the small museum and the magnificent lobby.
