Twin craters formed during volcanic eruptions when the volcanoes were still active
They are two "twin" craters formed during volcanic eruptions when the volcanoes were still active. Separated today by the road, we stop there when we come from the airport and go to Puerto Ayora (or the opposite). We can see a species of endemic forest of this area: escalesia. The Galapagos finches are regulars here. We will walk there with a local naturalist guide as in many sites of the archipelago. Most of the agencies in Santa Cruz offer an excursion from Puerto Ayora.
