BISHOP CASTLE
At 1:30 a. m. south-east of Salida, don't miss Bishop Castle's psychedelic architectural feat. The castle that bears the name of its manufacturer began in 1969 with a simple project, it was about building a family cottage. It appeared pretty quickly that the building under construction looked more like a castle and Jim Bishop finally changed his plans to play the game of resemblance. Today, the building, which could be likened to a work by Gaudi or the Factor Cheval, is visited free of charge and receives thousands of visitors every year. The castle is still under construction and continues to develop, on weekends you may have the opportunity to see Bishop Bishop in person.
