BUFFALO BILL'S GRAVE
The main attraction of the site is, of course, the grave of the famous Buffalo Bill. After a 6 month stay in the mortuary house of O 'Linger in Denver, due to a battle between Colorado and Wyoming to recover his remains, it is ultimately the summit of Lookout Mountain, according to his will, that becomes his last stay. His dead wife a few years later is buried near him.
This memorial, created by a friend close to Buffalo Bill, Johnny Baker, welcomes many fans and curious who followed the adventures of the illustrious buffalo hunter (among many other professions). The museum is also an opportunity to learn more about the extremely turbulent life of Buffalo Bill and its permutations in a wild and changing Far West. The site also offers different facilities and the possibility to explore the surrounding area.
Observation deck and breathtaking view on the plains and Front Range.
Hiking trails leaving the museum to discover Lookout Mountain and reach the Nature Center 1.5 km away.
A restaurant and picnic tables for lunch on site.
