The Carbon County Historical Society highlights the history of Carbon County, particularly through the collections of the Greenough and Linderman legends. It also covers the Waples family's weapons collection and numerous Amerindian crafts. Exploitation of coal and rock is also at the heart of programming. The museum welcomes visitors to a three story historic brick building, the first business building in Montana and the first site of the future commercial district of Red Lodge.
