CAVE OF VRANJAČA
Cave at the foot of Mount Mosor containing terracotta objects and bone fragments discovered during archaeological excavations.
Discovered in 1929, this cave is located at the foot of Mount Mosor, near the road between Donji Dolac and Varnjača. It is one of the most historically important places in the region. Occupied by people in the Neolithic period, the cave, filled with stalactites, has revealed, during archaeological excavations, terracotta objects and bone fragments. A species of spider was recently discovered here, while a rich fauna has always inhabited it.
The Split-Dugopolje (35) and Split-Kotlenice-Dolac Donji (67) bus lines pass near the cave.
