FORTERESSE NUTJAK
This fortress, which once defended the Republic of Poljica (a Dalmatian farming community), overlooks the Cetina River.
A ruined fortress well worth seeing. Getting there by car is a bit tricky. Park in the parking lot or on the side of the road and walk about 250 m up the hill. Not recommended for people with reduced mobility. In summer, bring water. Built from the 13th century on a site above the canyon, the fortress dominates the Cetina River. It defended the Republic of Poljica, a Dalmatian peasant community that lived here independently. Today, it delights meditators with its magnificent panoramic views.
