It was on this historic site that the Battle of Villalar ended. The Comuneros, led by Juan de Padilla (1490-1521), decided to leave for Toro when the royalists surprise them on April 23, 1521. A path extending over two kilometers from the village allows to reach the site on foot through the pastoral landscapes. A memorial was erected at the scene of the tragic battle that became a symbol of struggle for freedom.
